Spicy Asian Infused Flank Steak

Happy New Year! I always like to start the New Year with a BANG, and if you call the flu..make that the death of me flu, a BANG, then I guess I did.  Remember that ear infection I was talking about on Christmas Eve? That was a precursor to almost two weeks now of misery.  I am one hot mama, and I’m not speaking in an aesthetic sense; I’m speaking in a 102 Fahrenheit sense.

Spicy Asian Flank Steak and how to make flank steak as tender as filet mignon!

SO, my holiday consisted of bed rest and lots of fluids.  Writing this post is not easy.  I write a paragraph..take a break, lather, rinse, repeat.

Butter Pecan White Chocolate Crunch Clusters

Do you need a last-minute gift tonight? It’s Christmas Eve, and you suddenly realize that a friend or relative is coming by with a gift, or you’re going somewhere where said friend or relative will be, bearing gifts for you, but you don’t have one for them. Am I right? These Butter Pecan White Chocolate Crunch Clusters can be made in less than 30 minutes, a perfect and delicious, last-minute gift!

But, before I get to them, a quick, Christmas Eve rambling is in order. Of course you can scroll right to the recipe, though.  I think I need some kind of ‘jump to the recipe’ button since I tend to ramble a lot.

This morning I swore I wasn’t going to put this post up because the photos turned out awful.  These butter pecan white chocolate crunch clusters do not mesh well with artificial light. But then I thought ‘This candy is so darn good, why would I hold back over photos?”

These are normal thoughts if you have a food blog, and completely justified since photos are the most important aspect of a food blog. You first eat with your eyes. This is why I groan so much about not having natural light. One more time...everyone has an abundance of natural light, whyyy not meeee? :/

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Butter Pecan Thumbprint Cookies with White Chocolate Feuilletine, and a Way to Help the Sandy Hook School Families

Do you like butter pecan? Do you like white chocolate? Do you like feuilletine? If you don’t know what feuilletine is, I’ll get to it in a second, but I know you’re going to love these cookies!

So, three posts in less than two weeks. Weird, huh? Someone needs to take my temperature. I have a feeling it would probably register anywhere from 350 F to 375 F because the holiday baking bug bit and it keeps biting, leaving welts of butter, flour, sugar and eggs all over me.  How dorky can I get? Oh, believe me, there’s more dork where that came from.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Butter Pecan Thumbprint Cookies with White Chocolate Crunch Filling

Before I get to these cookies, I need and want to touch on the Sandy Hook shootings.  I’ve had such pain in my heart since learning of it, and I can’t watch anything about it without choking up.  Little children are precious, flawless gems; untainted by the harsh realities of what can be a cruel world at times.  They show us the goodness of human beings. Killing them is killing human goodness.
